A Prayer for Freedom
by Catherine Ternes

May we stop killing innocent people for what they did not do
May justice be revived from corruption's layer of dew.
May all stand up for what is right.
May we all be guided to the same bright light: hope
May violence be a thing of the past, and kindness - a disease we all
hope to catch. May we all strive for a better life for each other,
and
become a family of fathers, mothers, sisters, and brothers. May this
not just be a dream from which I will awake. May all work to make it
happen, from Seattle to Manhattan. May every dictator's heart be
softened, and peace, not war occur more often. May all find that
others pray unknown along with me, and desperately, hopefully, We
will be free.

A NEW WORLD
by Diego Fellows

May the wars end
May people be nice and peaceful
May the world have better people
May the power plants shut down
may they use water instead
May they come up with cars that run on water
May god's people have houses
May they all have happy holidays

May bombs that hit the ground never be seen again
May the foe go fight somewhere else,
may the people be safe in their homes
May we find better ways to make heat and
use water as electricity.

MY POEM FOR THE TWENTY-FIRST CENTURY
by Danny Berry

May scientists find cures for bad diseases
May crippled people be able to walk.
May hovercrafts be in everyone's yard.
May someone make a substitute for oil and gas.
May there never be hungry people.
May there soon be world peace,
So that President Bush won't need to bomb.

MAY THE WHOLE WORLD BE ALL SMART,
SO NOBODY WOULD HAVE TO GO TO SCHOOL.

happily.

ONE DAY
by Andrew Barbuzzi

May one day people not die.
May one day people keep what they have.
May one day animals not be killed.
May one day planes land where they're supposed to.
May one day all spaceships land safely.
May one day we all be safe.
May one day this all be true.

MAY THE WORLD BE BEAUTIFUL

My Poem for the 21st Century
by Richard Cole

May the homeless be homed
In this everlasting journey
May we give them a house
along with food, shelter, and safety

May wars not happen
may violence be tamed
May people stop fighting
with an everlasting name

May we help our earth
May we hope for no more pollution
May we save the land
And work together for the solution

May everyone be smart
May everyone be kind
May everybody have friends
And use their minds

My Poem for the 21st Century
by Bonnibel Gonzalez

May the world be a better place
may we be together forever.
may I learn more about myself.
May I learn more about everyone else.
may I have a good life.

may we be here in this nation together.
May the war end.
may George Bush stop forcing us to go to war.
May I know when there's danger
so I can stop guns and knives from killing.

May I live a very long time.
May the world stop danger.
May danger and death stop.
May sadness fade away.
May we be seen by angels.
