Daniel Ellsberg
Leaks and Lessons of the Pentagon Papers
Story aired: Monday, March 10, 2003

Daniel Ellsberg says he is reliving history he never wanted to relive. Ellsberg's own place in history was cemented in 1971, when he released reams of documents to the New York Times that detailed a government cover-up during the Vietnam War.

Ellsberg says throughout the 1960s, leaders knew they were waging an aggressive war against a people that did not threaten the U.S., and he argues that the government is going down the same road now with Iraq.
