Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
Longfellow House
Story aired: Wednesday, March 12, 2003

We recently paid a visit to 105 Brattle Street in Cambridge, Massachusetts, former home to American poet and scholar Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, and the scene of both a real and fictionalized club. The Dante Club is also the name of a new bestseller by Matthew Pearl. In it, he imagines the real life poets meeting every night to translate Dante, while they try to solve a gruesome string of Boston murders.
