Soldiers practice attack disboarding in the Kuwaiti desert (AP)
U.S. Military Strategy for War
Story aired: Tuesday, March 18, 2003

Eight or so time zones from the East Coast of the United States, more than a quarter of a million allied soldiers now appear just days away from war, strongly supported by a majority of the U.S. public.

President Bush and military commanders know that even the certain victory most anticipate in Iraq must also, ideally, be swift to keep that support high.

A rapid, decisive war seems to be the essence of allied strategy.

Guests:

Charles Heyman, editor of Jane's World Armies.
