U.S. Army soldiers cover up during an intense sandstorm (AP)
U.S. Forces Near Baghdad, Delayed by Storm
Story aired: Tuesday, March 25, 2003

The sandstorms which have slowed the advance of U.S.-led forces towards Baghdad also shroud the city itself.

Washington Post reporter Anthony Shadid is in Baghdad and says the city has an almost apocalyptic feel, with residents girding for further attacks.

He also told us earlier that Saddam Hussein's government seems very much in control.

Shadid says residents of Baghdad are worried about the advancing U.S. led forces and about the conflict to come, but despite their apprehension, most Baghdad residents are staying put.
