Arab Influx into Iraq
Story aired: Monday, March 31, 2003

An Iraqi general claimed yesterday that 4000 volunteers from 23 Arab countries have arrived in Iraq, and are prepared to carry out suicide attacks against American forces.

In a time of war, any government announcement must be viewed skeptically, but there are independent reports of men and women from Algeria, Libya, Syria, Tunisia, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the Palestinian territories who have headed to Iraq.

Guests:

Inigo Gilmore, freelance journalist in the Middle East.
