Powell Asks for U.N. Help after War

Secretary of State Colin Powell met with NATO allies and members of the European Union in Brussels today, telling them that the Bush administration seeks a partnership with the United Nations for reconstruction of a post-war Iraq.

Powell also brought the issue of NATO involvement in postwar Iraq to the table in an effort to curb tensions between Europe and the U.S. on the Iraq war and its aftermath.
