U.S. Forces Move into Heart of Baghdad
Story aired: Monday, April 07, 2003

U.S. forces are running into fierce resistance as they continue to move into the heart of Baghdad today.

Iraqi snipers have been firing on U.S. troops from inside Baghdad's Al Rashid Hotel, despite earlier reports that the hotel had fallen under coalition control. Iraqi forces are also taking up positions in and around the University of Baghdad.

An Iraqi missile attack claimed the lives of two U.S. soldiers and two journalists, one from Spain and the other from Germany.
