United Nations Security Council (AP)
U.N. Wants Inspectors, not Sanctions, in Iraq
Story aired: Wednesday, April 23, 2003

U.N. Security Council members who opposed the war in Iraq, including France, Russia, and Germany, are insisting that U.N. inspectors be allowed to join a weapons hunt now being conducted exclusively by the United States.

France is also asking that sanctions on the country be lifted. The Bush administration has already called for an end to the sanctions.
