Jonathan "Juanito" Pascual
Flamenco Guitarist Jonathan "Juanito" Pascual
Story aired: Tuesday, April 29, 2003

One of the hottest flamenco guitarists to emerge in recent years is Jonathan "Juanito" Pascual, an American who moved to Madrid at the age of 15 to immerse himself in the flamenco culture and study with the masters of the flamenco guitar.

Since returning to the U.S., Juanito has performed throughout the country, playing with major flamenco dance companies and at festivals like the Flamenco Internacional in Albuquerque, New Mexico and New York's Fringe Festival.

Now, after years of study and touring, Juanito Pascual has released his debut CD. It's called "Cosas en Comun."

Recently we sent Here and Now's Latin music critic Jose Masso to speak with Juanito.

Guests:

Juanito Pascual, flamenco guitarist

Jose Masso, Latin music reviewer and host of WBUR's Con Salsa.
