Republican Candidate Ads Story aired: Tuesday, April 29, 2003
By now you may have heard about that feud in the Republican family over how big a tax cut there should be.
President Bush wants a $726 billion cut, but there are Republicans who believe the number should be about half that. Those Republicans are now being targeted by the conservative political action committee the Club for Growth, which is airing ads in the home states of the two most prominent Republican holdouts.
Senators Olympia Snowe of Maine and George Voinovich of Ohio are framed in the ads beside French flags, accused of "standing in the way" of the president's agenda like France did on Iraq.
Stephen Moore, president of Club for Growth, talks with Here and Now about the ad campaign targeted against centrist Republicans in the upcoming election.
