DVD Jacket for "The Iceman Cometh"
Five Classic Plays Released on DVD
Story aired: Thursday, May 01, 2003

During the 1970s, an organization called the American Film Theatre transformed some of the classics of the Broadway stage into movies for the Silver Screen.

"The Iceman Cometh" was just one of the plays turned into a movie to emerge from the American Film Theatre. The aim of the production company was to introduce movie buffs to Broadway drama and comedies they may not have otherwise seen. Overall, 4 feature films were made.

Now, all 14 films are coming out on DVD and video, and here to tell us about the first available batch is our theater critic Bill Marx.
