Henry A. Waxman, US Representative of California (AP)
Rep. Waxman Claims Halliburton Cover-Up
Story aired: Wednesday, May 07, 2003

The company that came under fire for its no-bid contract to put out oil fires in Iraq is now being questioned again.

Congressman Henry Waxman, a California Democrat, says that new documents show the up-to-$7 billion contract is more lucrative than previously disclosed, allowing Halliburton to pump and distribute oil as well.

The Houston-based energy company, which was run by Vice President Dick Cheney from 1995 to 2000, says the terms of the contract were never hidden.

Guests:

David Ivanovich, reporter for the Houston Chronicle.
