Beat Bugs (Credit: MIT Media Lab)
Toy Symphony
Story aired: Wednesday, May 07, 2003

Music education is often one of the first programs to suffer the axe of school budgets cuts.

Recently, some folks at the MIT Media Lab, along with musicians from the Boston Modern Orchestra Project, or BMOP, kept the spirit of music education alive by involving local kids in a unique music-making endeavor.

Here and Now intern Lindsay Crudele visited a rehearsal of the Toy Symphony and came back with the sounds of the show.
