Globe Investigates Jayson Blair
Story aired: Monday, May 12, 2003

The New York Times, long considered the newspaper of record in the U.S., is reeling from one of the worst cases of reporter fraud and deception on record.

For over four years, Jayson Blair fabricated many of the details in his 600 reports, even lying about his reporting location. Blair resigned May 1 and this weekend the Times issued a multi-page investigative report on the controversy.

Guests:

Mike Hoyt, Columbia Journalism Review.
