Texas Democrats Holed Up in Oklahoma Hotel
Story aired: Wednesday, May 14, 2003

"Remember the Holiday Inn!"

That could, in the end, be the rallying cry for a group of 51 rebellious Texas Democrats who are still holed up at a hotel in Oklahoma, refusing to return to the Lone Star State where they face certain defeat on a vote for a congressional redistricting plan.

The drama has been playing out over the last couple of days, with talk of arrests and accusations of political power grabbing.

Ken Herman of the Austin American-Statesman joins Here and Now to discuss the standoff.

Guests:

Ken Herman, staff reporter for the Austin American-Statesman newspaper.
