Only the Strong Survive
Only the Strong Survive
Story aired: Tuesday, May 27, 2003

There are two new memorials to the legendary and long-departed Staxx music label in Memphis, Tennessee. One is a new museum dedicated to the label that produced Sam and Dave and Otis Redding.

The other is a documentary by D.A. Pennebaker, the same filmmaker who documented the Clinton campaign in "The War Room" and Bob Dylan in "Don't Look Back."

In "Only the Strong Survive, " he brings to life the musicians who not only survived the Memphis soul scene, but still give goose bump-inducing performances.
