The Role of Young Voters in 2004
Story aired: Wednesday, May 28, 2003

College students: kind of apolitical, right? They've got better things to do than vote, like study, go to football games, and download music online.

Think again. A new Harvard study focused on so-called campus kids, and it turns out, that 3 out of 5 undergraduates say they will vote in the next presidential election, and 41 percent of them say they're independents, who haven't made up their minds yet.

That means who they'll vote for is a potential mother lode of millions of votes.

To explore the young student vote, here and Now is joined by Dan Glickman, director of the Institute of Politics.

Guests:

Dan Glickman, director of the Institute of Politics at Harvard University.
