Author Isabel Allende has told many stories, but in her new book "My Invented Country: A Nostalgic Journey Through Chile" she finally tells her own.
The book is a memoir of Isabel's life and land. On September 11, 1973, a military coup toppled the Chilean government, killing her uncle, Chilean leader Salvador Allende, and forcing Isabel and the rest of her family into exile.
Eighteen years later to the day, the events of September 11th, 2001 took place, and Isabel watched in horror in her adopted country, the United States.
Those two events launched the book, and Isabel Allende joins Here and Now to talk about it.
