Former House of Commons Leader to Testify in Iraq Inquiry
Story aired: Tuesday, June 17, 2003

Two former British cabinet ministers have accused Tony Blair's government of manipulating intelligence information to justify a war with Iraq.

Robin Cook and Clare Short both resigned over Blair's decision to take Britain to war without the backing of the U.N. Today they testified before a parliamentary inquiry into how intelligence was used in the months before the war.

Matthew Tempest, political correspondent for The Guardian newspaper of London, talks to us about the testimonies of Cook and Short.
