The Eye
The Eye
Story aired: Friday, June 20, 2003

The Pang brothers are identical twin filmmakers who were born in Hong Kong, live in Thailand, and are a hit all over Asia. Their latest film, "The Eye," has now arrived in American theaters.

It's inspired by a true event: a 16 year-old girl in Hong Kong received a cornea transplant and committed suicide a week later. The Pang brothers wondered what she could have seen that affected her so deeply. They took the sad tale and turned it into a ghost story about a young woman who regains her sight but ends up seeing more than she bargained for.

Our guest reviewer is Garo Nighosian. Garo has organized a number of Hong Kong film festivals, and writes for "Oriental Cinema" and "Asian Eye."

Guests:

Eric Shaefer and Renee Graham, film reviewers.

Garo Nighosian, writer for "Oriental Cinema" and "Asian Eye."
