Stone Reader
Stone Reader
Story aired: Friday, June 27, 2003

Author Dow Mossman wrote one book during the course of his career: "The Stones of Summer." It was published, and reviewed, in 1972. Writer John Seeley gushed over it in the New York Times book review, and his recommendation inspired Mark Moskovwitz, a self-professed book addict, to buy a copy and give it a read.

For some reason he couldn't get past the first chapter, so he put it down, for a long time, almost 25 years. Mark Moskovwitz chronicled his search for author Dow Mossman on film and turned it into the new documentary, "Stone Reader." it's a movie driven by Moskovwitz's passionate, lifelong love of reading.

Guests:

Steve Almond, literary Critic.

Renee Graham and Eric Schaefer, film critics.
