The Fourth of July celebrates the birth of the United States, but it's the dawning too of a long struggle to fulfill an ideal in this country of freedom and equal rights. These past few days we've been examining the current health of civil liberties in the United States.

To cap the week, we thought we'd focus on how film has dealt with the American ideal of freedom.
