Palestinian Prime Minister Mahmood Abbas has quit the central committee of Fatah, the movement he founded forty years ago with Yasser Arafat.
Whether it's a shrewd political move or a walkout by an exhausted politician is hard to tell, but one thing is clear: when the roadmap to peace suffers any setbacks, it is Abbas, also known as Abu Mazen, more than any Israeli or Arab figure who's been taking it on the chin lately.
