Bush Promises Support for Africa AIDS Crisis Story aired: Thursday, July 10, 2003
President George W. Bush spent his third day in Africa today, where he told Botswana's president that AIDS is the "deadliest enemy Africa has ever faced," a comment that echoed statements he made in Senegal Tuesday and yesterday in South Africa.
More than 38 percent of Botswana's adult population is infected with HIV.
While President Bush has been clear-cut about AIDS, he's been less so about civil unrest in Liberia, where he is still stopping short of offering military support.
