The Swimming Pool
The Swimming Pool
Story aired: Friday, July 11, 2003

French director Francois Ozone's first English language film would seem the perfect summer diversion, with a title like, "Swimming Pool."

The movie's plot is also seasonal. Sarah Morton, the main character played by Charlotte Rampling, is a very successful, and very uptight, British crime novelist who takes an extended holiday at her publisher's chateau in Provence. Once Sarah shakes the city and begins to settle into the quiet country life, Julie, her publisher's over-sexed daughter, arrives, and the plot thickens from then on.

Guests:

Rosemary Herbert, Boston Herald book review editor and mystery book review columnist.

Eric Schaefer and Renee Graham, film reviewers.
