Story aired: Tuesday, July 22, 2003

There are reports at this hour that Saddam Hussein's sons may be among five Iraqis killed in a fierce gun battle outside the northern Iraq city of Mosul.

A spokesperson for the 101st Airborne Division said 200 soldiers were sent to a villa and lobbed grenades and anti tank missiles after receiving gunfire from inside the house. Five Iraqis were reportedly killed, four were said to be high ranking Hussein loyalists.

U.S. officials are investigating whether two of the dead were the elder sons of Saddam, Uday and Qusay Hussein. There is no information at this time on the whereabouts of Saddam Hussein, who's thought to be alive and in hiding in Iraq.
