Rev. Gene Robinson (AP)
Gay Episcopal Bishop Vote Delayed
Story aired: Tuesday, August 05, 2003

Just hours before the vote that would have made the Reverend Eugene Robinson the first gay bishop in the Episcopal Church, allegations of inappropriate behavior on Robinson's part have sparked a church investigation and postponed the decision about his future.

One of the allegations concerns a support group for gay and bisexual teenagers that he helped found. Though Robinson has not been associated with Outright Concord for the last 5 years, reports surfaced yesterday that the group's website contained a link to a pornographic website. Group leaders said they had previously been unaware of the link, and immediately removed it.

Guests:

Martha Yager, Outright Concord spokesperson.
