Deadly Car Bomb in Baghdad
Story aired: Thursday, August 07, 2003

A massive car bomb rocked downtown Baghdad today. At least eight were killed, at least 52 were injured. Several cars were reduced to shrapnel and one vehicle was tossed onto the roof of a nearby building.

The target was the embassy of Iraq's neighbor Jordan. The question is, why?

The answer surely lies inside Iraq, but we wanted to try to get a sense of Jordanian reaction at this early stage.

Guests:

Dr. Kamel Abu Jaber, a former foreign minister of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
