Actor Arnold Schwarzenegger (AP)
Candidates Rush California Recall
Story aired: Thursday, August 07, 2003

Arnold Schwarzenegger's announcement last night that he'll run for governor of California sent California politicians into a tailspin.

Within hours, Lieutenant Governor Cruz Bustamante broke party ranks to become the first Democrat to announce his candidacy and challenge his boss, Governor Grey Davis. State Insurance Commissioner John Garamendi is expected to follow suit later today.
