Power plant engineer in control room (AP)
Will Congress Act in Wake of Blackout?
Story aired: Monday, August 18, 2003

Everything is working again where millions late last week got a day off from work because of the blackout. In the U.S., officials aren't asking for any new energy conservation -- a contrast to Canada, where in Ontario the public has been asked to cut their electricity use by half.

So will the powers that be in the U.S. change anything? There is an energy bill in Congress -- the House and Senate each have their own version. Both chambers have been trying to agree what to do about energy for years.

Guests:

Jacob M. Schlesinger, reporter, Wall Street Journal
