The Personal Music of Kyler England Story aired: Tuesday, August 26, 2003
Kyler England, is a Southern-bred gal with a voice that's been described as breathless and fragile one moment, then it captures you off-guard and pins you to the wall.
Standing a petite five-foot two, with long brown hair and icy blue eyes, Kyler plays the piano, the guitar, and writes songs which, as one critic put it, make you feel that you are ears to the confessions of a good friend.
Kyler was a valedictorian at North Carolina State University, where she studied chemistry and humanities. She then went on to the Berklee College of Music in Boston, following in the footsteps of such famed Berklee alumni as Paula Cole, Aimee Mann, and Melissa Etheridge. Now living in New York City, Kyler is an independent artist celebrating the release of second full-length album, "A Flower Grows in Stone," a blend of intimate guitar acoustics and slightly more powerful folk rock sounds.
Producer Karen Pelland recently visited the twenty-something song bird in her third floor Brooklyn apartment where Kyler talked about the new album, her career, and a very special previously releases EP titled "How Many Angels."
