Blair Grilled on Iraq
Story aired: Thursday, August 28, 2003

British Prime Minister Tony Blair ran a gauntlet of protestors this morning as he entered the Royal Courts of Justice in London to answer questions about the presumed suicide of government scientist David Kelly.

Kelly has been identified as the source of a BBC report that alleged Blair's government had "sexed up" evidence of Iraqi weapons of mass destruction.

Blair is only the second British prime minister to face a judicial inquiry. John Major was the first in 1994, and ironically it involved the export of defense equipment to Iraq.

Blair's reputation and that of the venerable BBC is on the line.
