Forty years ago today, Martin Luther King Jr. addressed a quarter of a million people from the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC. He gave a speech that still resounds in the minds of Americans and people all over the world.
No matter how many times you hear those words, the power in them holds a kind of magic that never seems to diminish.
Richard Greene, author of "Words That Shook the World: 100 Years of Unforgettable Speeches and Events," says he believes the "I Have a Dream" speech is the greatest speech of the 20th century, possibly in all of American history.
