"MILES DAVIS: A Tribute To Jack Johnson" album cover, recorded in 1970
Miles Davis
Story aired: Monday, September 08, 2003

To jazz fans, Miles Davis is a titan, a towering figure. But to some fans of rock he's an interloper.

He may have been a jazz pioneer, but they say his "Bitches Brew," the 1969 jazz-rock fusion, corrupted the genre, and besides, it was hard to listen to.

Music critic Tim Riley is here to tell us about one new Miles Davis release that will hit rock fans where they live.

Guests:

Tim Riley, music reviewer.
