Burns Series Ends on World Trade Center
Story aired: Monday, September 08, 2003

As we approach the second anniversary of September 11th, New Yorkers will be reminded of the aching hole in their skyline by the countless news stories, but also by the heartbreakingly beautiful images in Ric Burns's documentary "The Center of the World."

The film, airing on PBS stations tonight, is the eighth episode in Burns's series on the history of New York. It tells the story of the rise and fall of the World Trade Center towers and the feeling those towers produced in people around the world.
