The Rise and Fall of Gator
Story aired: Friday, September 12, 2003

In the 1980s and 1990s, the skateboarding subculture went mainstream, with teens all across America challenging themselves and each other, in half pipe parks and local competitions.

Their hero was Mark "Gator" Rogowski, a talented kid from a broken home in California who rode the vertical skateboarding wave to fame and relative fortune. So how did he end up in prison for rape and murder? A new documentary, "Stoked: The Rise and Fall of Gator," chronicles Rogowski's story.

Guests:

Renee Graham, film reviewer.
