Book cover detail, "Evil" by Lance Morrow
Lance Morrow's "Evil"
Story aired: Wednesday, September 17, 2003

What is evil? One obvious way to define it: the absence of good.

Consider, though, the terrorist attacks of 9/11. To some, Osama Bin Laden for example, the events in New York City, Washington, and Pennsylvania that day were good.

Time magazine columnist Lance Morrow has written the new book "Evil: An Investigation," a meditation upon the question of evil, and he joins Here and Now to discuss his book.

Guests:

Lance Morrow, author and Time Magazine columnist.
