President Bush addresses the United Nations today, calling for more international assistance in rebuilding Iraq.

Bush resisted demands by French President Jacques Chirac that control of Iraq be transferred immediately to the Iraqi people. The president also stood firm on his conviction that the war in Iraq was the right thing to do.
