Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf (AP)
Pakistan's Musharraf Meets Bush
Story aired: Wednesday, September 24, 2003

Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf is walking a razor's edge today at the U.N., speaking before the General Assembly as a key ally of the United States. Musharraf leads an Islamic country where a majority fiercely opposed the war in Iraq and where elements in his own military and intelligence services still allegedly support Al Qaeda - and the Taliban.

In his speech before the General Assembly, Musharraf calls for enlightened moderation throughout the Muslim world.

To discuss the complex and critical state of U.S.-Pakistani relations, Here and Now is joined by Anwar Iqbal, South Asian analyst for United Press International.

Guests:

Anwar Iqbal, South Asian analyst for United Press International
