Dennis Kozlowski, former CEO of Tyco International (AP)
Trial Begins for Tyco's Kozlowski
Story aired: Monday, September 29, 2003

Dennis Kozlowski goes on trial today. He's perhaps best known for a $6,000 shower curtain allegedly bought with company money. The former chief executive of manufacturing firm Tyco International is accused of stealing $600,000,000 million from his company and investors.

His co-accused, Tyco's former chief financial officer Mark Swartz, will also be in court as jury selection begins today in New York.

The proceedings mark the start of a series of trials of former corporate executives accused of financial misdeeds, and as ever with white collar cases, the details are byzantine, convictions far from certain.

Guests:

Nanette Byrnes, Business Week.
