Camp Delta at the Guantanamo Bay Naval Base in Cuba
Guantanamo Translator Arrested in Boston
Story aired: Tuesday, September 30, 2003

A translator employed at the Guantanamo Bay base in Cuba was arrested this morning at Logan Airport in Boston, after a random search revealed what reports describe as classified documents.

Ahmed Mehalba was reportedly returning to the U.S. from Cairo, Egypt. The doctor denies the papers are his and is expected to be arraigned in Boston this afternoon.

Meanwhile, Abdul Rahman Al Amoudi, a respected U.S. Islamic activist who says he was authorized by the Pentagon to produce candidates for Muslim military chaplains, was arrested Sunday at Dulles International Airport for making illegal trips to Libya and accepting money from Libya.
