Alamoudi Accused of Funding Terrorists
Story aired: Wednesday, October 01, 2003

Abdurahman Alamoudi, the Eritrean born Muslim American with ties to both the Bush and Clinton administration and a large role in nominating candidates for the Pentagon's Muslim chaplain program, has been accused of funding terrorist organizations.

Alamoudi was detained in London in August after he was found carrying $340,000. This past weekend he was arrested again as he flew back to the U.S., charged with accepting money from the Libyan government to lobby on their behalf with the Bush administration.

His case took a major step forward yesterday, during a hearing in U.S. district court in Alexandria, Virginia, when prosecutors said they believe they can link him to the terror group Al Qaeda.
