UK's Blair Blamed in Cook Iraq Diary Story aired: Monday, October 06, 2003
British Prime Minister Tony Blair is back in the hot seat over whether he knowingly misled the British public in order to justify war with Iraq.
The latest allegation comes from Robin Cook, the former cabinet minister who resigned before the war.
In excerpts of Cook's diaries published this weekend, Cook says that Blair acknowledged, just two weeks before the war, that Iraq had no usable weapons of mass destruction.
Blair, he says, committed Britain to war on a false prospectus.
