Second-Hand Stories
Second Hand Nation
Story aired: Tuesday, October 14, 2003

Christopher Wilcha and John Freyer had a dream, so they bought a used 1977 Chevy ambulance on eBay and set off to look for America in her garage sales, thrift stores, auctions, and anywhere off the beaten path where second hand stuff is sold.

In fact, their film on secondhand America was made by secondhand equipment and features a soundtrack of old albums purchased in their travels. They call their film "Second Hand Stories," and the pilot episode airs tonight on PBS stations around the country. They hope to turn the film into a series.

Guests:

Chris Wilcha and John Freyer, filmmakers, "Second-Hand Stories."
