Medicare vs. Managed Care
Story aired: Thursday, October 23, 2003

The man who runs the Medicare program says there's a "95 percent chance" that lawmakers will soon vote to reform Medicare, and also provide seniors with help paying for prescription drugs.

There's still a lot of dissent with Democrats complaining they've been all but cut out of the debate, but a plan is emerging and House Speaker Dennis Hastert says it could be ready by the end of the week.

Guests:

Ken Thorpe, chairman of the Health Policy Department at Emory University.
