Pentagon Unveils Iraq Force Plan
Story aired: Thursday, November 06, 2003

Alerts are going out now to 43,000 Reserve and National Guard troops. The Pentagon announced they'll be called up for year-long tours of duty in Iraq or Kuwait.

The Marine Corps also announced it will send 20,000 active duty units back to the region.

Despite the call-ups, the Pentagon says it will draw down the total number of troops in Iraq next year.
