It can be difficult these days to sort out just where U.S.-Iranian relations stand.

Iran pledged $350 million to help rebuild Iraq, even as some U.S. allies dragged their feet, but the U.S. would also like the Iranians to hand over members of Al Qaeda whom Tehran is allegedly holding.
