Weekend of Insurgency in Iraq, Afghanistan
Story aired: Monday, November 24, 2003

Over the weekend, two American soldiers were shot while traveling in a jeep in Northern Iraq. They were then mutilated by an angry mob, of mostly teenagers, according to reports, and according to photographic evidence, it's been widely reported that their throats may have been cut.

In Afghanistan, a helicopter crashed, killing five American soldiers, and wounding seven more. The cause of the crash has not been announced, though there are reports a rocket may have brought the helicopter down.
