Explosion Near U.S. Embassy in Afghanistan
Story aired: Thursday, December 04, 2003

Rocket exploded today outside the U.S. embassy in Kabul, just hours after U.S. Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld met with Afghan President Hamid Karzai at a presidential palace not far from the embassy.

No injuries were reported after the blast.

The attack underlined the country's fragile security situation days before a key Afghan gathering to approve the first constitution since the U.S.-led war there.
